bohinc draws from layered structure of bird feathers
During Milan Design Week 2025, Uniqka presents the Betsy Collection, designed by Lara Bohinc. Exhibited at Alcova within the historic Villa Bagatti Valsecchi, the collection consists of leather furniture inspired by the layered structure of bird feathers. The design incorporates overlapping leather panels arranged over sculptural, geometric forms.
The collection includes five pieces: a coffee table, a side table, a console, a bench, and a standing mirror. Each item is handcrafted in Uniqka’s Istanbul workshop by artisans using saddlery leather, which is cut, treated, and layered onto wooden frames.

The design approach minimizes material waste by incorporating leather off-cuts where possible. The table surfaces are available in a range of materials, including wood, stone, and metal. Betsy Collection by Bohinc Studio, led by designer Lara Bohinc, is presented in a setting that contrasts historic architectural details with contemporary furniture craftsmanship, emphasizing the tactile qualities of leather. Available in six color options—dark brown, powder pink, rust, black, petrol blue, and spice yellow—the pieces offer customization to suit various interior environments. The Betsy Collection will be available starting April 7, 2025.
