GROHE explores form, function, impact and the ‘Pure Joy of Water’
For Milan Design Week 2025, GROHE creates an immersive brand experience, transforming the historic Garden Senato into the GROHE Aqua Gallery. Following the success from previous years, including the Red Dot award-winning exhibition at Palazzo Reale in 2024, the brand for bathroom solutions and kitchen fittings continues to awe visitors by bridging the relationship between humans, water, and the environment. Constructed from recycled bottles, the Aqua Bar forms a special highlight of the 2025 installation, illustrating the environmental impact of single-use plastics and the growing issue of water pollution.

Presenting products as functional objects and crafted artifacts
From April 8-13, 2025, visitors can experience the GROHE Aqua Gallery, a curated installation that combines indoor and outdoor elements to showcase a selection of GROHE products as both functional objects and crafted artifacts. Set in the historic Garden Senato, the exhibition emphasizes the relationship between water and design, highlighting the brand’s commitment to offering ‘Pure Freude an Wasser’ – German for ‘Pure Joy of Water.’
Guided by its design philosophy, GROHE aligns the Aqua Gallery with Milan Design Week’s theme of ‘Connected Worlds.’ Designed by the in-house LIXIL Global Design and Brand Identity team, the installation exemplifies a shared approach to design, which goes beyond aesthetics. ‘It draws from a deep understanding of human needs, culture, and the natural environment, combined with cutting-edge technologies,’ explains Patrick Speck, Leader, LIXIL Global Design EMENA.

A PROVOCATIVE STATEMENT ON SUSTAINABILITY AT MILAN DESIGN WEEK
Sustainability is a central theme throughout the GROHE Aqua Gallery. As visitors explore the installation, they encounter thoughtfully designed spaces that reflect GROHE’s commitment to eco-conscious design and responsible water use. A standout feature, the Aqua Bar – constructed entirely from recycled plastic bottles – serves not only as a refreshment stop but also as a powerful statement on sustainability. Highlighting the pressing issues of water pollution and the environmental impact of single-use plastics, it encourages visitors to consider more sustainable alternatives.
Beyond the displays of water-efficient solutions in GROHE’s Aqua Gallery, visitors can relax in the historic garden and participate in the Aqua Atelier, where they are invited to create an ‘Aqua Poem’ inspired by their experience. The installation underlines the message that ecological responsibility and design can coexist, offering solutions that are both eco-friendly and visually appealing.
